The Petrichor
The Petrichor
Originally designed as a 15” archtop, The Petrichor fairs equally well as a solidbody. In solidbody form, the Petrichor comes standard with all of the same appointments as my archtop instruments. Angled headstocks with a laminate backstrap, wood binding and purfling, set-neck design and a chambered body make this model wildly adaptable to a number of genres, and the understated profiles looks amazing in the guitar stand, but disappear as soon as you throw the strap over your shoulder to go play. The solidbody Petrichor comes standard in 26” scale length, allowing for a slightly higher-tension feel and glassier sound at standard pitch, and stable feel with tighter low-end when downtuned. It can be spec’d with any pickups or hardware you might prefer, and the scale length can be tweaked to your taste as well.
At this time, all of the Petrichors in existence are of the solidbody variety. I have some full-depth archtop variations in the works but are currently unspoken for and on the backburner while I take care of paid commissions. However, archtop Petrichors are available in your choice of wood species for back/sides/neck and top. They come standard with ebony appointments, including the handmade bridge and tailpiece and will come with a hand made magnetic pickup system similar to the Esper archtop unless you have a specific pickup in mind. Either style of cutaway is available, the deep cut or soft cut, depending on style and fret access. Also available in non-cutaway styles.
